In September 2010, I was finally given a diagnosis and some answers, for the symptoms I had been experiencing. But, I seemed to be fighting more than just several auto-immune diseases, a large part of my battle was also with the loneliness I was feeling.
Why would God do this to me? Why had He left me so alone in my misery? I became very overwhelmed and even a little angry.
Yet, in those lonely times and suffering, I began to see God, right there in the flood of all my anguish and emotions. And, the more I kept my eyes on Him, and let myself be inundated and immersed in Him, the more peace that came into my heart.
I changed my focus, I began to keep my eyes on God and not my infirmities. I aimed my attentions to the Word of God and prayer, soon comfort, peace and an inner joy came! God had allowed my struggles to draw me closer to Him. As He strengthened, built and reshaped my faith, He needed 100% of 'alone-time' with me.
You may be facing trials and afflictions and you are not sure, how you will get through them all. You may be filled with great despair, confusion, fear and worry, maybe even anger, like I was.
It is not an easy thing to face these kind of difficulties and tragedies alone. However, you can find courage and hope in the midst of your heartache and pain. God sent His only Son Jesus, to become human flesh and blood, so that He could then take all of our afflictions upon Himself. He knows and accepts you, right where you are and He wants you to trust Him for all the answers!
As difficult as your sufferings may be, you are not alone if you know Jesus Christ. Jesus is right there with you. He loves you and cares about everything you are facing. He hears your cries in the night hours and sees your tears as they flow from your eyes. He knows and appreciates your situation, more than even you can. Jesus understands right where you are, friend!
In verse 16, of Hebrews 2, we read that although the angels fell, but God did nothing to save them from their suffering or sin. All of that still hangs on their head. However, in verse 17, we see that Jesus took on mankind's flesh and blood in order to rescue us from the bondage of sin, pain and death. By embracing and taking it into Himself, He destroyed Satan's hold on death and freed all who would come to him.
He did not do this for the angels, He did it for you and I. That is why, in verse 18 we see that, Jesus entered in to every detail of human life. He experienced it all, all the pain, all the testing, all the suffering, Jesus endured and felt it all!
Whatever we must endure, His promises are true, His concern is assured and His love is unfailing! He has promised to never leave us all alone! Friend, I've been there more than once and I know this to be true! ...He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5
