Every day God's salvation draws nearer, which means we must be more diligent and persevering in our walk with Him. We do not have the "luxury of time" to be consumed, preoccupied, or even fatigued in our day-to-day responsibilities that we become distracted to what God wants to accomplish in each of our lives and in His church!
We are nearing the day of the "coming of our Lord and Savior," which signifies the need to pick-up our pace so that we will finish our earthly race and hear our Lord proclaim, "Well done thou good and faithful servant..."
This is surely not the time for the Church of Jesus Christ to rest or retreat from our responsibilities and the commitments we have made in serving our Lord! No now is the hour to fully engage ourselves in the service of our Lord and to carry out His purpose not only in our own lives, but in the lives that do not know Him personally.
But, sadly when the worship no longer matters, when sermons are boring and we no longer have a hunger and thirst to be in God's house, we tend to give ourselves up to the spirit of anti-christ, which is man making himself his own god, and following his own will!
I believe at this particular moment, God would say to us: "The closer we get to the return of my Son... the most unstable and dangerous the times will be, so it is most important that my children gather together all the more!"
My heart sinks and I often wonder how many midweek or Sunday night services have been canceled due to low attendance?? How many Christians have stopped going to Sunday morning services because they go over one hour?? How many Christians have time to pray individually or corporately.
And, where are God's people... if they are not in church?? Are they at sporting events, parties, visiting with friends... or just sitting at home watching television???
My friends, It's time for "ALL of us, including myself" to take a moment to examine our hearts and souls with just a few questions that I've listed below:
1. How am I prepared to walk and live in this world??
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105
2. How will we ever know the "Power of God" and what He wants to do in these last days if we spend less time in God's House??
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12
3. How will our children not only be filled with the Holy Spirit, but will know the "Power of the Holy Spirit" in their own lives??
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and "your sons and your daughters shall prophesy," your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions... Joel 2:28
4. How many "souls will be lost" because there is no one who is eager and ready to share God's Holy Word??
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few... Matthew 9:37
5. How will we know what "The Lord's Will" is for each of us??
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that "ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2
