PSALMS 26:2-3
SAFETY FIRST!
How do car manufacturers make sure their vehicles are safe for people to drive? They put them on a proving ground where they're driven hundreds of miles over rough roads, through water and heat-screeching, turning, twisting, hitting the brakes, and accelerating to top speeds.
Why do they put them through such grueling tests? They want to see if that car will stand the test. If fact they need to meet "government regulations!"
SAFE IN CHRIST
It's the same with our spiritual lives. God is strange: He gives the test first and at times we learn the lesson afterwards. But there are times when we won't know "WHY" until we get to heaven someday and can ask God... although by then, I don't think we'll care.
We read throughout Scripture and you'll find this to be true... that Joseph was tested, Job was tested, Moses was tested, and Paul was tested.
PROVING US IN ADVERSITIES
Think about the years Joseph was sold into slavery, then sent to prison... Job lost EVERYTHING and then had horrible, painful boils and his friends weren't truly there for Job. Paul was ship-wrecked, beaten, and put into prison, but if you recall Joseph didn't sin with his master's wife... Job didn't curse God even though his wife told him too... and Paul actually sang hymns while in prison.
When God gets ready to prove us, He is not going to test us in the good times because that is not a test! Anybody can serve God in the sunshine. He wants to know if we can sing in the shadows?
WHY SUCH TESTS, TRIALS AND BURDENS
The test is not how we behave when there's victory all around. The test is how we behave when you're facing a wilderness.
He doesn't test us to know what's in our hearts... because He already knows that. He wants us to learn about what is in our heart so we can realize our own weaknesses.
He wants to depend not on better circumstances, but on Him. He wants us to see the weakness of our human nature so we know we need to trust more fully in Him.
THE QUESTION FOR US
The real question is; "How do we behave when God brings us into the wilderness?" He genuinely wants us to know what is going on in our hearts!
May we learn "these are the times to draw close to the Lord more each day!"
Also, do we walk by FAITH-"Forsaking All, We Take Him?"
The reality is, the testing is not easy... Because He wants to
know if are we are fully "TRUSTING" and absolutely
"DEVOTED" to Him?
THINK ON THIS
Do we fully trust God in our trials? And, are we truly devoted to Him in the bad times as we are in the good times??
