For thou has girded me with strength unto the battle: thou has subdued under me those that rose up against me.
Psalm 18:39 (KJV)
WHO WILL BE A
"WARRIOR FOR GOD??"
GOD'S ANGER TOWARDS HIS OWN PEOPLE
In Jeremiah 4 You will find God speaking to Jeremiah. The following is paraphrasing God's anger towards His people:
"Wash the evil from your heart, Jerusalem, so that you will be delivered. How long will you harbor malicious thoughts within you? My people are fools; they do not know me, for they are foolish children without understanding."
They were skilled in doing what is evil, even though they know not how to do good. YOUR WAY OF LIFE, YOUR ACTIONS have brought this on you, and it is very bitter, BECAUSE, IT HAS REACHED YOUR HEARTS!!
JEREMIAH'S LAMENT
God spoke to Jeremiah, this was Jeremiah's response:
"My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in agony! Oh, the pain in my heart! My heart pounds; I cannot be silent. For you, my soul, have heard the sound of the ram's horn -- the shout of battle!"
Jeremiah 4:19 (HCSB)
We are in a battle, specifically a "Spiritual Battle" that is not of flesh and blood, but of the Kingdom of God (Psalm 45:6), the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 19:14) and Satan's Kingdom of Darkness (Matthew 12:26)!
THE BATTLE AND THE ENEMY
The enemy is Satan and he is evil, seeking to destroy and kill anyone that is not of his kingdom of darkness! He is the
greatest adversary we as Christians can imagine, and
he does not fight with conventional weapons,
so be sure to put on the "Armor of God,"
that I talked about yesterday!
He already has many lost souls and now he is out to kidnap, kill or destroy every Christian that walks with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Not only that, but he is working
in the "Church of Jesus Christ!" In fact, he NEVER
MISSES a Sunday Service or Wednesday night
Bible Study!
More than ever before the church needs mighty WARRIOR MEN and WOMEN, powerful, robust and potent individuals who are fervently devoted to Christ Jesus!! God needs WARRIORS who are willing to fully give their lives, that "Our Father in Heaven Might be Glorified"!
"Love so amazing so divine, Demands my life, my soul, my all!"
EXAMPLES of GOD'S WARRIOR MEN:
DANIEL
(Daniel's name in Hebrew means: God is my Judge) Daniel was a man whose prayer life helped him to realize unimaginable miracles and prophetic anomalies! While Daniel was raised to high office by his royal master, Darius the Mede. Daniel's jealous rivals tricked Darius into issuing a decree that for thirty days, no prayers would be petitioned to any god or man but Darius himself; anyone who broke this decree would be thrown into the lions. See the Bible Book: Daniel 6 (KJV) Unable to save Daniel from the edict, the king had him cast into the pit of lions however, at daybreak, he hurried to ask if God had saved his friend!! Angels had been sent to protect Daniel and he replied to the king, "Because I was found blameless before Him!" Daniel knowing the decree had been signed... prayed to God! See: Daniel 6:10 (KJV)
PAUL
(Paul's name in Hebrew means: Small or Little) Paul was such a passionate warrior for Jesus Christ and an intense lover of lost souls, once he met the Lord! He devoted many Bible verses such as; Ephesians 6:10-18 Being strong in the Lord, putting on the armor of God for Spiritual Warfare. The rest of Paul's life was blameless: He didn't say, "I have given up, I am done, my faith has failed me! NO! Absolutely not!! Paul said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith!" I said it before, Christianity is not for the "Faint of Heart"! Like Paul we face battles, not just physical assaults, but "Spiritual Warfare" so we need MEN and WOMEN to ARISE, SHINE and Fight the good fight!! Paul was a warrior who fought for the Gospel of Jesus Christ! 2 Timothy 4:7
DAVID
(David's Name in Hebrew means: Beloved) David was a poet, a musician, and a skilled warrior! He was outraged at Goliath's blasphemous insulting of the God of Israel, so David volunteered to be the warrior he was, He would fight Goliath. Although he had a hard time convincing everyone, he finally convinced King Saul with his steadfast faith in God!
As a Jewish leader, we are not likely to forget that almost overnight David became a sensation, a "Super Warrior"! As a reward for his valor, he was given King Saul's daughter, Michal. And, there was a song devoted and composed for him, I'm sure each of us remembers these words in the song, "Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands". This is when King Saul became envious of David! David on various occasions was a little like King Saul with his murderous and jealous actions. He let King Saul know he could have killed him, but he never did.
JOSHUA
(Joshua's name in Hebrew means: Yahweh is Salvation) Joshua, during the last fifteen years of his life, led the Israelites into some of the most bloody crusades to get into the Promised Land after Mose's death! This conquest of the Promise Land took approximately seven years, and Joshua along with Caleb, from the tribe of Judah, were the only two men of the twelve spies that entered the promised land.
We probably know Joshua best for the very first battle he and his warriors won, in the taking of the city with their marches around the walls of Jericho! The captain of the battle whom Joshua met was the "LORD OF HOSTS HIMSELF"!!
Joshua had a super close relationship with the LORD GOD, one of my favorite verses in the Bible is: And, if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
ESTHER
Esther slowly approached the throne, her heart racing.
Imagine a hush falling over the great royal chamber in the
Persian palace of Shushan, a silence so profound that Esther
could not hear her own soft footsteps and the rustling of her
royal garments. She could not let her attention wander to
the grandeur of the royal court, the graceful columns, the
richly carved ceiling of cedars imported from distant Lebanon.
She trained all her attention on the man seated on the
throne, the man who held her life and those of her people
in his hands.
As the king watched intently as Esther approached, he
extended his golden scepter towards her. It was a simple
gesture, but it meant Esther's life, for by it the king excused
her from the offense she had just committed -- of
appearing before him without a royal invitation. As
she came to the throne, Esther reached out and
gratefully touched the top of the scepter.
ESTHER 5:1,2
ELIJAH
(Elijah's name in Hebrew means: My God is Yahweh) Elijah stands out in the Old Testament as the great "Spiritual Warrior." He was a prophet in Israel during the Baal retaliation when only 7,000 believers were left in the Northern Kingdom. He was averse to evil King Ahab and Jezebel, his wife, the first in rank as an example of the Prostitute of Babylon.
Elijah and Moses were and are believed to be the two witnesses who will be called back to serve in the Tribulation in Israel's darkest hour. Elijah's prophecy of no rain for 3.5 years will become the standard for the division of the seven years of the Tribulation in the halfway mark of the beginning of the Great Tribulation.
Elijah, like most of the Prophets in the Bible, had to live off the land and very often they came face to face with the Kings of the Lands. There they would chastise and admonish them for trying to lead the people away from God!
Elijah lived in a divided Israel that was candidly and publicly belligerent to the Prophets and the Hebrew faith! God mightily supported Elijah, once against the Prophets of Baals and again in a showdown against King Ahaziah's men.
Elijah did so much to return the land back to Judaism that he was spared from death and instead was bustled away to heaven in a Chariot of Fire.
MOSES
(Moses name in Hebrew means: to draw or pull out) From the time Moses began an activity that would lead to the Israelites freedom from slavery in Egypt, until his death in Nebo, Moses was a WARRIOR! He had no military experience (at least any that were recorded in the Bible) still, he led and directed the largest army of men ever assembled under a single command! He took 603,500 thousand men who were slaves and made an army of them. These former slaves may have been ignorant of warfare, but Moses molded them into a great army and led them victoriously for forty years and under his leadership, the army of Israel was never defeated!
GOD DOESN'T CALL PERFECT BELIEVERS
HE CALLS WILLING BELIEVERS
These are just a few of the warriors we find in the Bible. But, every man or woman that God used, was first and foremost a
BELIEVER who was willing to be a WARRIOR!
God may call you to be a "Prayer Warrior" (as was Daniel),
He may call you to witness and be "Love of Lost Souls Warrior"
(as was Paul). God may call you to be a "Leader or Teacher Warrior" (as was Joshua and Moses) or He may call you to do
battle as a "Brave Conquering Warrior" (as was David) or He
may call you to be a "Brave, Wise and Selfless Warrior"
(as was Esther)!
There are many kinds of WARRIOR for the Lord, whatever God calls you to be as a Warrior, He will equip you to accomplish His Will for your life. We are all placed here with
"A Purpose, A Plan and A Will" for our lives by
Christ Jesus!
Do not fear, for God will walk with you and He will be
your comfort and your strength!
ISAIAH 41:10 He will lead you where
He needs you!
WE ARE ALL EXHORTED TO BE A WARRIOR OF SOME KIND
EACH OF US ARE ADMONISHED TO BE WARRIORS
FOR CHRIST JESUS!! THE QUESTION IS:
WILL YOU ANSWER THE CALL???
