Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Yesterday, I started to break down this verse and I talked about Jesus being, "The Great I Am." Today I would like to focus on Jesus being "The Way!"
What did Jesus mean by saying I Am the Way? Jesus was telling the disciples to "follow Him," He is the one and only way to Heaven and to the Father! There is no other way! Jesus is the only passageway, the only route that we follow to attain our salvation.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 My Jesus, was the stone that the builders rejected, but He has become the cornerstone and the only way to salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved.
The sole and absolute pathway of salvation is expressed in, "I Am the Way!" And, those words were spoken by my Savior! Again I say, Jesus Christ is the only WAY!
The other two facts explain how Jesus is the Way, inasmuch as He is Truth and He is Life! He is the only one that God sent and He is the only one who speaks God's Word. God our Father loved Jesus so much, that He put everything within His power!
So if we are following Jesus, we are believing in Him and we are walking in truth. And, if we believe in Him we have eternal life. John 3:16 God sent us Truth and Life in His only son, Jesus Christ! Truly Jesus is "The Way!"
