I desire to come to Jesus, like the woman who touched the hem of His garment and was healed (Matthew 9:20-22). I want to stand before Him like the maiden who was dead, but Jesus gave her life once more (Matthew 9:23-25). And, I come to Jesus as the sinner I am, saved by His grace, like the woman who came with a bottle of very expensive perfume and stood at his feet, weeping, raining tears on his feet. Letting down her hair, she dried his feet, kissed them, and anointed them with the perfume (Luke 7:36-38).
I am nothing in myself, but in Christ my Lord, I am a child of the King! I have been chosen by Him! He knew me while I was yet in my mother's womb (Jeremiah 1:5) and somehow He still wanted and embraced me. Yes, I have been chosen to be His child! And, my Jesus offers you this same promise, if you will believe and come to Him.
Long before God, my Father laid the foundations of this world, He had you and me in His thoughts. He decided that His love would be concentrated on us and that we would be made whole in Him. God wanted us to participate in the celebration of His love. And, I have been adopted into that love, according to His will and purpose for my life (Ephesians 1:4-6).
God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for you and I. And, when I gave my life to Jesus, He accepted me with open arms. Sometimes this is just so hard to believe -- but I know it to be true!! I am a child of God!!
We cannot doubt the facts my friends! I think of Thomas, he talked and walked with Jesus. He sat at Jesus' feet and learned first hand and yet when Jesus rose from the dead, Thomas needed to see and touch His nail scarred hands to believe that it was Jesus.
While there were those that believed, because they saw -- Jesus states in His Word, "Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed" (John 20:28,29). Isn't it wonderful -- we are blessed the moment we believe!
And, there is another promise -- Jesus promises to accept all who would come to Him and those that do come... will never be cast out (John 6:37). You will not be turned away, friend!!
And, this is just a partial description of who you and I are, in Christ Jesus. While we are CHOSEN, ADOPTED and ACCEPTED -- there is so much more my friend!!!
I pray that knowing who you are in Christ Jesus will take you to a more loving and cherished relationship with Him! May God pour out His blessings on you today!!
