I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
ROMANS 12:1-2
No matter, where you go or what you may be watching on television, listening to on the radio or even playing a harmless game on your tablet, there is an endless bombardment of advertisements for one thing or another. There is no escaping society's constant marketing that comes with a significant and crucial demand of "keeping up with the Joneses!"
Convincing ads say you need the latest technical gadget, the perfect smart phone, the newest vehicle and on it goes! Sadly, people are willing to go profoundly into debt just to fulfill their source of pride.
We are not meant to be so self-sufficient having our focus totally on "things" so much so that we barely need the Lord in our lives! And, we aren't meant to be so distracted by "things" that our attention to God, His Son or His Word becomes careless and lax!
As Believers we need to aim our attention towards God, worship and prayer! Were not to be hoarding earthly treasures where they corrode or are even stolen by thieves. Let your stockpile of treasures have a heavenly value where nothing will destroy them.
It's very apparent and understandable, isn't it?? Remember, wherever we place our treasures, that is the place where we want to be and where we will be eventually!
And so my friends, I would ask you to "give your lives and your bodies to God. Let them be active blessings of sacrificial love that will not only bring Glory to God, you will be full of His joy and the awesome wonder of being "A Child of God!"
