Psalm 1 declares that a true Christian is to be like a fruit tree planted by nutritious and savory streams of water flowing freely towards larger waters. These waters allow any fruit tree to bear a delicious and an appetizing crop.
Just like luscious apples, oranges, or peaches are picked from these trees, Paul states that Christian believers "are expected" to bear spiritual fruit that has been cultivated by the Holy Spirit. The fruit of the Holy Spirit that we bear is love, joy peace forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Our first fruit is love, because without love any other fruit we might bear tends to be rotten and spoiled! The "Word of God" clearly states, Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:7-8
The "Love of God" has strong and sturdy expectations and is selflessly devoted in its expressions, this love is truly "biblical agape love"! When we take time to immerse and bathe ourselves in God's love, our harvest will be plentiful and precious souls will also find the "Love of God"!!
