PSALM 39:7
WHAT IS HOPE
Every night we go to bed without any assurance of being alive the next morning, but we still set the alarms to wake up. That is HOPE!
Now, you may think that only terminally ill persons go to bed with those thoughts, but how many have died in their beds because lightening or even a tornado hit their home during the night time hours. We can never know the moment or hour when our time on earth will be over!
WORDS OF HOPE
A local church had these words written on their sign that was in front of their church: "HOPE IS REAL." I instantly believed that and then I thought of the many people for whom that statement is not real in their lives.
One of the most important gifts we can give to people is a word of encouragement--a "WORD of HOPE!" Because someone who is hopeless and alone usually cannot help themselves out of their situations without hope!
They have a great sense of loss and helplessness. It's so important for Christian Believers to come beside them and bring the good news or the gospel of Jesus Christ and everything He has to offer.
THE DEFINITION OF HOPE
One dictionary describes hope as:
- noun: The feeling that what is wanted can be had or that
events will turn out for the best. A particular instance of
of this feeling as in the hope of winning.
- verb: To look forward to with desire and reasonable
confidence. To believe, desire, or trust. (I hope my work
will be satisfactory.) To feel that something desired may
happen. (We hope for an early spring)
BRINGING FORTH HOPE
It is imperative that we bring the Word of God with all its hope to those who do not know it is real. When we bring hope to someone, we are also bring life to them.
It is life-changing to finally have hope. To believe in either for the first time for someone to hope, or to see the return of hope for others.
IT IS MORE THAN JUST ASKING GOD FOR SOMETHING
It is more than just asking God for something we desperately need; we must expect our miracle. Somewhere in the midst of asking, believing, and expecting God to answer, we will find exactly what we are looking for.
One of the worlds problems today, is that many people have lost hope. Especially, in this particular year of 2020 where sickness has hit the world globally, there is suffering and dying, people have been out of work or even lost their jobs.
FINDING HOPE
Apart from God, it is an awful, hopeless place for people to be in life. You need to know that whatever your situation you may find yourself in at this very moment, there is HOPE!
Maybe you aren't able to see or feel the hope, but it is there just waiting for you! There is only one place where hope can be found, and that is truly in Jesus Christ!
It really is Jesus Christ who brings us HOPE... especially when
we give thanks--no matter where we are in life.
David found himself in situations many times and had to remind himself that HOPE IS REAL, and it comes from God. One of David's prayers was: And now, Lord, what wait I for?
My hope is in thee.
