2 TIMOTHY 1:7
HOW DO YOU SPELL FEAR??
FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARS REAL
FEAR IS ONE OF SATAN'S WEAPONS
It's a spiritual force that begins inside of you, and it is destructive because it robs you of your faith and peace. It keeps your focus on circumstances instead of the promises in God's Word.
That's why the Bible commands one hundred and ten (110) times to "Fear Not." Jarius needed healing for his daughter; he knew Jesus could heal her, but still, his heart had feared! What if he couldn't find Jesus in time??
When you start thinking "What ifs," fear opens the door to doubt. Jesus was quick to instruct him: "But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, "Fear not: believe only, and
she shall be made whole."
LUKE 8:50
JAIRUS' FAITH
Jesus warned Jairus of his enemy to his daughter's healing-was FEAR and DOUBT! The adversary instills fear by challenging the promises of God.
An excellent example is in MATTHEW 14:30 when Jesus invited Peter to come and walk with Him on the water. "But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and he
began to sink."
Nonetheless, Peter knew to cry out, "Lord, save me!"
PETER WALKS ONTO THE WATER
What enabled Peter to walk on water? His faith in the Words of Jesus. What caused Peter to sink? He saw the blustering winds and harsh waves, and fear and doubt engulfed him.
It wasn't the boisterous storm; his FEAR took hold of him! And the fact that Peter took his eyes off of Jesus! He looked at what was around him and not at the Lord!
OVERCOMING FEAR
The enemy brings fear to all of us: the question is, "Will we look at what is around us, or Will we look up to Jesus?"
When fear seems to seize you, look to Jesus; and His Word. Write the verses down and post them around the house so you can see them, read them, and keep your eyes on Jesus and not your circumstances!
VERSES YOU CAN PRINT AND POST:
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
DEUTERONOMY 31:6
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
ISAIAH 41:10
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
HEBREWS 13:6
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
