EARTHQUAKES AND MOTHER NATURE
In reading about the recent earthquakes in Ridgecrest, on July 4th and 5th, I came across many statements regarding "mother nature" which I would like to share with you:
1. The Labour Spokesman (press release) & (blog) -Feb 26, 2019
... world is more than anyone of us so 'we have to respect mother nature' and how she has considered us as human beings and nature of life.”.
2. “Our 'Mother Nature is a master sculptor' and in no place is that more evident than at Arches National Park.”
― Stefanie Payne, A Year in the National Parks: The Greatest American Road Trip
BELIEVING GOD'S WORD
My Friends, as a believer in Christ Jesus I have to say that "MOTHER NATURE IS NOT ANY PART OF MY BELIEFS, MY BIBLE or MY GOD!" Mother nature is nothing more than Greek mythology which is quite frankly nothing more than FOLKLORE or TALES AND STORIES FROM THE PAST THAT ARE FICTITIOUS!
Jesus not only spoke of these earthquakes, he also warned us about them in many places in the Bible! We are not to be surprised, and although we may find it alarming, we must KEEP OUR FAITH and TRUST IN THE LORD!
Non-believers may put their trust and respect in legends and in falsehoods, I choose to stand on the Word of God! I've talked to you about "choosing" before, and I would urge you to continue to "CHOOSE TRUTH!"
With the Lord on our side, what have we to fear? God's Word states, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
ISAIAH 41:10
OPENING OUR DOOR TO CHRIST
Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come into him and will sup with him, and he with me. REVELATION 3:20
If we truly want intimacy and fellowship with the Lord, we most certainly must be striving to grow and learn about Him! I will be frank with you, I struggle every day to be closer to my God, and there are always stumbling blocks that the enemy thrives upon in his attempt to hinder our relationship.
The devil is constantly and consistently creating many struggles and battles to destroy my communication and fellowship with Jesus! And, I MUST CHOOSE to keep my faith and my trust in the Lord!
Our frequent contact with the Lord, or our lack of it, is a precise assessment for both the Lord and ourselves to know beyond a shadow of a doubt the truth concerning our fellowship
with God!
It most definitely is not always an easy road to travel, I'm sure that there are people whose homes, vehicles and other things have been damaged from these earthquakes, but that doesn't mean that God is not with them. We had a very bad storm a few weeks ago that took down our 3/4 of our fencing, and I am trusting the Lord to provide a way to replace it!
Yes! There are times when I may feel very alone, but those are "MY FEELINGS AND NOT FACTS!"
A KNOCK AT THE DOOR
When we knock at anyone's door our aim is most likely to gain entrance to their home and yet, we must acknowledge the rights of the owner either to allow or not allow us in. If we were not permitted in, we would never force entry instead we would simply walk away.
Our Savior implies the same courtesy to us when He knocks at the door of our heart. When we open this door we either allow Him entrance or we simply shut Him out!! The CHOICE is ours to make!
If we admit Christ entrance, He comes and dwells with us; if we reject Christ, He turns quietly away! Perhaps He will return to knock again, but then again, He may never return!
A TIME TO EXAMINE OUR HEARTS
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye, not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?? 2 CORINTHIANS 13:5
We are to check ourselves, are we true believers in Christ Jesus? Would we pass the test of self-examination? Do we know the power and presence of Jesus Christ within us? Or are we playing a game, living on our parent's salvation or simply just pretending to be Christian Believers, when in actuality we aren't at all Christ's own beloved??
QUESTIONS TO HELP US EXAMINE OURSELVES
Now don't panic if you've had a rough day or things seem to be going awry! At the end of the day, as you lie in bed, God and we have an opportunity to evaluate the true intent of our hearts! How often, how much did we acknowledge God throughout our day?
How much did we talk to Him and fellowship with Him? Where and why did we miss opportunities to fellowship with Him? These are not easy questions, and yet if we don't ask them, how will we know the answers??
TAKE HOLD OF WHAT TOMORROW HOLDS
Perchance the best question is this: When did we hear that "still small voice" today? Did we hide from it or did we open our hearts to Jesus and listen for Him?
Asking ourselves these daily questions of self-examination and our responses to them could determine where we will spend eternity. God is also warning us in Scripture: Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. LUKE 21:36
We have no idea of what tomorrow holds, but we can take hold of tomorrow by examining our relationship with God today!!
