As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
PROVERBS 27:19
THE WHIMS OF A CHILD
While standing in line at the grocery store checkout, a little girl was asking her mom to buy her some candy. She
carried on as though she had never been given candy.
Standing her ground, the little girl's mom told her very plainly and in no uncertain terms, "No! I am not buying you any
candy today!" It wasn't but a moment before
her little girl became very belligerent!.
Her little face turned beet red as she sulked and made
it known throughout the store that she was very
angry as she squealed, "I WANT CANDY!"
It was obvious to everyone in line that this child couldn't care any less about her behavior! Suddenly everyone in line all clapped and applauded her mother because we've all seen parents say, "NO" several times only to finally cave in to
the child's whims!
GROWN UPS OR CHILDLIKE
It's sad because a lot of parents won't "stand their ground" when it comes to a child's temper tantrums. These children very often never grow up to be responsible adults. They are content to put on an act, concealing who and what
they are on the inside!
However, Proverbs tells us very plainly:
As in water "face reflects face", So the "heart of man" reflects the man. Or, just as water, mirrors your face, so your
face mirrors your heart!
And, as that mirror reflects a man's heart, we see what kind of man he genuinely is as it is shown by the
kind of friends he chooses!
WHAT DOES OUR HEART SAY ABOUT US?
God's Word States: A good man out of the good of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks!
LUKE 6:45
A good man or woman produces good deeds from a good heart.
And an evil man produces evil deeds from his hidden wickedness. Whatever is in the heart overflows
into our speech!
