That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpillar eaten... Joel 1:4
I am speaking to myself and every Christian, who has had a time in their lives when their relationship with the Lord, was shaken, dry or barren! We are human, we fail, thus the devil "jumps," right into those areas of our lives ready to steal and extract what little hope or joy that may or may not be left!
Take a look back with me and see the times where we all have stumbled and failed, where we recall our faithlessness and faltering periods of time that were empty and bleak! When we began to wander, meandering aimlessly around, and you will see that everyone has had WASTED DAYS, WASTED MONTHS and even WASTED YEARS!!
Our JOY is painlessly and easily stolen, our Lord Jesus cast aside with a simple phone call, heart-to-heart neighborly gossip, or appalling senseless rumors. Without the "Joy of the Lord" we also lose our "FAITH and TRUST" in Him and we become just cross and crotchety Christians!!
But, our Lord would say to us, "I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you."
Joel 2:25
We have a wonderful God, who is willing to acquit and remove those times of devastation! Christ the Lord will absolve the savage and deadly locusts giving us back our JOY and ALL our WASTED DAYS, WASTED MONTHS and WASTED YEARS!!
We will eat our fill of pleasant and satisfying food, we will know that our hearts are once more "Right with God," and without question we will know that our God is real and He is the "ALMIGHTY, KING of KINGS"!!
I do not know where you stand with God today, but His Holy Word tells us to search and examine our hearts for anything that might hinder our walk with Him; "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And, see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way that is everlasting." Psalm 139:23-24
Ask yourself, "Has there been a time in my walk with the Lord, where I have had more JOY, FAITH or TRUST"?? If so, Serve the devil notice today! Take back the what he has stolen from you!
Valleys of defeat and struggle will not break you as you choose to WALK IN VICTORY!!!
You are not the first person to feel "far away" from a God who loves you and wants to help restore you!!! David prayed this prayer in:
Psalm 51:12 "Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit."
Lord, cleanse each of us and make us snow-white as we come before you humble and fully repentant. Let us sing aloud your songs, tapping the broken bones in our feet to dancing. Although we were defective, You give us a healthy, robust life!
Its time to make a fresh new start and ask the Lord, to take the chaos completely out of our lives! Fill each soul with your breath and your holiness so that we may be an encouragement to those around us who have lost their way! Unseal our lips so that we will be unshackled and let loose with your praises!!
My friend, God is waiting to restore and reestablish our walk with Him, so that we are ready to give someone the gift of Joy, Faith, Trust and Encouragement, by pointing them to Jesus Christ our Lord!!
