PSALM 29:3-4
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary several years ago in Myrtle Beach, SC. I stood on the oceanfront balcony and noticed dark clouds and a storm forming many miles out to sea, heading towards the beach.
Before I knew it, a strong waterspout came down from the dark clouds and headed our way. As I filmed the beauty of the clouds over the sea, I realized this was now a tornado heading right for a hotel three doors down from our hotel.
Before long, beach umbrellas, chairs, and tables flew in the air and out to sea. It was both a great and scary site to see. Thankfully no one was hurt, but this tornado took off the top of the hotel it hit.
In Psalm 29, David climbs a mountain and watches as a storm moves across the sky above the Mediterranean Sea towards him. He sees and hears thunder, lightning, wind, rain, and flood.
Instead of being taken by fear, David is filled with confidence and peace. That is because he sees beyond nature. He sees God revealing His majesty, glory, and power through the tumultuous manifestations of nature.
Amid tempestuous circumstances, he finds peace in his Lord
(vs. 11).
My friends, if the Lord can control lightning, thunder, floods, and even tornados, He can control your life, so TRUST Him today!
TODAY: Find peace in Jesus, however, turbulent circumstances might be!
