What time I am afraid, I will TRUST in thee. PSALM 56:3
WHEN THE UNFORSEEN ARRIVES
My husband was massaging my neck in July of 2010 when he felt a lump. So I scheduled an appointment with our family physician and she ordered a CT Scan.
A day or so afterward I received that type of phone call that rattles your day! I was told that I didn't have simply one swollen lymph node, I had several of them in my neck.
CALM OR UNEASINESS
I can't say that I was panicky, but I will tell you I was highly concerned with those questions, "what if?" What if this was cancer, what if I needed surgery, what if I needed chemo... on and on the "what if's" were rolling in my mind.
So, I took a deep breath and told myself to STOP! It was time to accept God at His Word: What time I am afraid, I will TRUST in thee. PSALM 56:3
TIME WILL TELL
I was scheduled to go to the Medical University of South Carolina for a biopsy. My husband and I arrived at 6:00 a.m. for the 7:00 a.m. procedure, when we were advised that the surgeon was called to the emergency room and we would have to wait until he could get to us.
At 12:00 p.m. we were told that the surgeon wanted another CT Scan for a comparison view. We were a bit impatient but that said, I was whisked off for an additional CT Scan.
A REASON FOR EVERYTHING
Again, I was concerned but I have always believed, "Delays are for a reason!" After the scan I was put into another waiting area where my husband soon joined me.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. the surgeon came in offering his apologies with some good news. The second CT Scan showed that "all the lymph nodes were now normal and a biopsy was not necessary."
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD
Friends, God is greater than our "What ifs and our Fears?" In fact, it's been said that there are 365 "Fear nots" in our Bibles. That is one "Fear Not" for every single day of the year!
We just need to remember "God is in Control" of every single situation in our lives. Every detail! Every Outcome! And Every Chapter of our lives!
TRUST BRINGS COMFORT - DOUBTS BRING FEAR
We can count on God for everything that we need, for His peace and comfort in times of trials -- We just have to TRUST His Word!
