2 Corinthians 4:7
As Christians we are an "earthen vessel!" We carry this precious Message around in the unembellished, plain, and unsophisticated, clay pots of our ordinary lives. That’s to prevent anyone from confusing God’s incomparable power with us.
We will at times experience sadness, tears, afflictions, perplexities, weakness and fears. Yet because of the heavenly "treasure" within us, we are not defeated.
Christianity is not the removal of weakness, nor is it merely the manifestation of divine power. Rather, it is the demonstration of divine power through our "human weaknesses."
This means (#1) that in every affliction we may be more than conquerors by the power and love of God (Romans 8:37), and (#2) that our weakness, troubles, and suffering open us up to the abundant grace of Christ, allowing the life of Jesus to be affirmed in our bodies!
If you experience the presence of Christ Jesus and His power in your life, absolutely no trouble, affliction, sickness or tragedy will cause you spiritual defeat. When outward circumstances become unbearable and your human resources are exhausted, God's resources are given to enlarge and expand your faith, hope and strength. Under no circumstances will God forsake His faithful children. (Romans 8:35-39)
With God on our side like this, how can we lose?
