What a marvelous promise this is from God! However, it is preceded by a call to repentance and then the promise of restoration. Government, families and even the church have slowly been moving away from God! We as a nation have accepted the slaughter of unborn babies, we have allowed immorality and all sorts of sexual perversions to become the average standard to follow. I have to ask, "When will it end? How far will we go in seeking self serving pleasures?"
My mother use to say, "If I give you a hand, you'll take the whole arm!" I wasn't quite sure what this meant when I was younger, but now I realize that when we start 'giving in' and 'allowing little sins,' soon we have complete corruption taking over.
God's Word is very clear on the subject of sin, in that all of us are guilty of sin(Romans 3:23) and that God hates and will not tolerate sin. (Isaiah 59:2) God found a way through Jesus Christ, for us to be forgiven of sin. (John 3:16)
Right now it seems that the term "Christian" applies to many, but few are willing to truly follow Christ and turn away from their sin. While Paul tells us that God's grace abounds for those who do sin and repent of our sin, we certainly can not willingly continue in our sins! (Romans 6:1-3)
So "WHY" are we as a government and a church constantly on the move to accept and even promote homosexuality? The Bible clearly states that God made woman for man and that marriage would consist of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:23-25) We are also told in God's word that to practice homosexuality, men and women must first give up the natural function of the opposite sex in order to indulge in their desires for the same sex. These acts are described as disgraceful and degrading passions and they are considered indecent. (Romans 1:26-27)
I am not usually "preachy" in my blogs, at least I don't think so, but I am finding it harder and harder to live in this world. A world where we are homo-phobic if we don't agree with the homosexual agenda. A world where indecency,
obscenities, vulgarity, drunkenness, immodesty, pornography, and all vileness seems to be taking over everything! A world where babies are murdered every single day without even a second thought!
Still, there is HOPE! Our God says that if we REPENT, He will RESTORE all that we have lost and more. Joel 2:18,19 He goes on to say that He will also "pour out His spirit" on all flesh. Joel 2:28 What a wonderful God we serve!! His love for us is alive and immeasurable. He just asks that we turn from our ways and come to Him.
My hope lives in Jesus Christ! I know that He can and He is willing to heal us if we just come to Him! If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
My hope for YOU is also in Jesus Christ! God has a purpose and a plan for your life! If you are struggling or if you feel like you can't go on, TAKE HOPE in JESUS!! He loves you and He will take you by the hand and lead you into a life that is worth living!! Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
JESUS: Our help for today, Our HOPE for tomorrow!
