I don't have enough time! Time went by so quickly! There is never enough time to get everything done! We've all said or heard these statements about time!
Well, imagine now, that there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries no balance from one day to another. Every evening it deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do??
DRAW ALL OF IT OUT EACH DAY, of course!!! Well, each of us has such a bank and its name is TIME!
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds and every night it writes off, at loss, whatever of this you have failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance and allows no overdraft. However, each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you failed to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours alone!
There is no going back and there is no drawing against 'tomorrow!' You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it, so as to get from it, the utmost of benefits.
The clock is running, make the most of today!
If you read Ecclesiastes 3, you will find there is a time for every purpose and for everything. A time to be born, a time to die. A time to plant and a time to pick that which was planted. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to break down, and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh. A time to dance. A time to cast away stone and a time gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing. A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep and a time to cast away. A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silent and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate; A time of war and a time of peace.
What I have learned from time... is never to waste it!! We will walk this journey just one time, there will be no re-runs! We must take every moment to share the love of Jesus, there is nothing more important for us to do!!
The value of our time is in found in each day, each hour and each moment. Do you question the value of time?
To realize the value of one year, ask a student who has failed his final exam.
To realize the value of one month, ask the parent of a pre-mature baby.
To realize the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value of one day, ask the daily wage laborer who has a large family to feed.
To realize the value of one hour, ask sweethearts who are waiting to meet.
To realize the value of one minute, ask the person who missed the train, bus or plane.
To realize the value of one second, ask the person who has survived an accident.
To realize the value of a millisecond, ask the athlete who won the silver medal at the Olympics.
Sadly, most of us don't realize times value, until we come nearer the end of our own time. Still, we must learn to treasure every moment we have, whether we are closer to dying or not, for none of us knows what will transpire in the next moment we hold. Spend your time wisely, spend it loving others!
And remember; Time waits for no one!
