Psalm 118:24
Truly we are a blessed people... how could we not rejoice in the Lord Jesus. I have always believed that no matter how hard my life can be... there is always someone who is struggling with a more difficult time, in their life.
I think of it like this:
A man has new shoes: His feet ache as they "wear in" today.
A man's shoes are old: He is embarrassed as he walks today.
A man's shoes have holes: His feet get wet today.
A man has no shoes: He does not walk far today.
A man's feet are swollen: He can not put on his shoes today.
A man's foot will not heal: He must stay off his feet today.
A man's foot is infected: He must be go to the emergency room today.
A man learns he is diabetic: He must be admitted to the hospital today.
A man's foot is not healing: He must hear the words "possible amputation" today.
A man's foot is amputated: He is hoping this will make things better today.
A man's foot is still painfull: He must endure phantom pain today.
I think you can see where I am going with this... there is always someone who is worse off then we might be today! With that knowledge alone... we should be rejoicing each and every chance we have... and we need to be praying for those who are having a more difficult time.
I woke up today... where as many others were denied the privilege! So... I will rejoice and be glad! I will praise my Lord for the life He has given me... and the pathway that He has chosen for me to walk! I may be in pain... but there are others who are far worse shape than myself.
All I ask Lord Jesus... is for your mercy and grace to guide me. Make me a blessing to someone today Lord... and help me to ease the burden of a brother or sister, that I might meet along my journey.
The secret to living a good life in the midst of a trial... is Rejoicing and Praising God along the way!
