Romans 8:25
In going over the three steps I posted on my February 26th blog, this is the second step. Patience!
It has been a long, cold winter in the north and on at least two occasions the snow and ice has reached many southern states. We lost power in one of the storms that drove freezing ice and snow our way.
It isn't surprising that many people have said, "Enough is enough, give us back our warm southern weather!" Even northerners are counting the days to spring and summer. So, we wait patiently with an assurance that the warmer weather is just around the corner.
There is an expectancy for grass to turn green, flowers to bloom and robin's to nest in the tree tops. The cold storms we have had are just the birth pangs of creation waiting to blossom all around us.
Our trials are like the winter months where we feel cold and alone. Still, these are the times when growth and maturity are taking place.
These faulty human bodies may be yearning for a full deliverance, but what good would it be if we were delivered without learning any thing? How would Moses have led the people out of Egypt if he gave up after ninth the plague? What would Joseph have fed his family if he had given up after he was sold to the caravan?
Our tribulations and heartaches are not pleasant or fun! However, we will never find full joy or peace unless we wait patiently for God to take us through them.
Yes, there are definitely times we can't just go around our bad times, we must go through them, but do not doubt or fear, Jesus will walk with you. This is His promise to us! Isaiah 43:2
Just like we must go through the long winter months, we must finish the journey through our difficulties and hard times. However, we must also hold fast to the hope of springtime and the ending of our hard times!
Be patient, my friend! Pray and ask God to show you exactly what He is trying to teach you? He understands our infirmities and He is a God who is always willing to help us!
