give every man according as his work shall be.
Revelation 22:12
This poem was sent to me recently and it had such a timely and promising message I wanted to share it with anyone and everyone. It was written by Robert H. Smith and he called it, "The Clock of Life!" If you are anything like me... It will make you think about your own life -- and what you are doing with it.
The Clock of Life
by Robert H. Smith
The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop
At late or early hour.
To lose one’s wealth is sad indeed,
To lose one’s health is more,
To lose one’s soul is such a loss
That no man can restore.
The present only is our own,
So Live, Love, toil with a will.
Place no faith in “Tomorrow”.......
......For the clock may then be still.
A small poem... with an enormous message! So, now is the time to listen, to help, to care, to live and to love. We must never put life on hold or place it up on a shelf. Life is to be lived and breathed day by day and moment by moment.
We must never stymie or hinder the work we do for the Lord. You may not realize it but people are watching you and the testimony you profess, by being a Christian.
Be alert and watchful at your posts... whether there be hard times, tough times or bad times. Whether you have fallen, been attacked or shaken to the bone, you must keep working. Our work must come from a pure heart, a clear head and a kind hand; and it must be done in gentleness, holiness, kindness and love.
There is no time to waste! So stay awake and alert! We have no idea of the day or the hour when our Lord Jesus will return. Matthew 24:42 So it is like this: If we knew a thief would arrive at a certain hour, we would be there with a gun or whatever it would take to prevent the break in. Matthew 24:43
My friend, be attentive, be watchful, be vigilant and sharp - for you know not the hour.... when your life will take its last breath or our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ will return!
