JOSEPH AND MARY BRING JESUS TO THE TEMPLE ON THE 8TH DAY
And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

AWAITING THE MESSIAH
It's not very often that we hear about Simeon, when we talk about the Christmas story, but I believe he is very relevant to the Bible, to all Christian Believers and Christmas! Simeon was a good and Godly man, very devout, filled with the Holy Spirit and prayerfully expecting the Messiah's arrival.
The Holy Spirit had revealed to Simeon that he, a Jerusalem resident, would not die until he had seen Him -- God's anointed King! Led by the Spirit, he was in the Temple when Joseph and Mary as they brought the baby Jesus in to carry out the rituals of the Law and blessed the child.

SIMEON WAITED IN THE TEMPLE FOR THE MESSIAH!
NOW THAT I HAVE SEEN THE SAVIOR - I CAN DIE IN PEACE!
And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
"Lord, now let thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel."
