If I speak human or angelic languages but do not have love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
1 CORINTHIANS 13:1 (HCSB)
WHETHER YOU KNOW
IT OR NOT...
YOU ARE LOVED
THEY CAME FOR ONE REASON
People filled the waiting room. They all came for a reason: they cared. Relatives, Friends, the Pastor, and Co-workers all cared. They cared for John and his family -- they responded to news of his heart attack by CARING and LOVING.
They didn't have quick solutions, nor did they have the medical expertise. They didn't have advice, the one thing they did have was; LOVE! Love for not only John but for his wife, his children, and his extended family.
LOVE IS A VERB
They took time out of their day to "show up" because that is what LOVE does! Love is a verb, it is something we show and do! Love is never to be kept to ourselves it was meant to share with those who need it.
Paul didn't define or describe love as a feeling but as actions. John and his family saw that action!
A TIME TO BE BORN AND A TIME TO DIE
Fortunately, John recovered but his heart was diseased and it had to be replaced. His new heart came from someone who did not recover here on earth.
We can ask and wonder why someone dies and another person dies, but God has a time when our earthly bodies will die. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment... HEBREWS 9:27
SACRIFICIAL LOVE
The heart of love Paul wanted all believers to display also came from the sacrifice of a life. Christ's sacrificial love can bring new life to each of us.
God assures us that we don't have to worry about being loved, for as long as He exists we will be loved! Look to God for all the love you need He is very willing and able to share His love with us!
