Psalm 23 is one of the most cherished Psalms by Christians in general. It soothes our souls amid everyday life's fears, troubles, and hurdles.
As a shepherd, David clarifies that he placed his trust in the Lord, his ultimate Shepherd. And he trusted God in all things. To begin with, notice in verse 2 that David relied on God for the most fundamental existential needs--food and water.
In a society that boasts of its accomplishments, God's sheep unashamedly acknowledge that God provides us with the essential elements for our sustenance. Regardless of how rich or poor we might be, the food we have right now we draw from the benevolent hands of our Shepherd.
TODAY: Let me invite you to start your day by being "simply thankful" to God in this most simple yet essential aspect of our lives.
