Seven Secrets of a Champion - #7

7. He Enjoys the Rewards of Winning
The one who wins the race receives the coveted prize with accompanying honor and recognition as a champion. Jesus promises the same to those who run in the real race of life. “Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life” (Revelation 2:10). The anguish and pain of a race is quickly forgotten in the excitement and joy of being a winner. Paul gloried in his triumph when he said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
(2 Timothy 4:7)
So it is good for us to learn to celebrate the blessings of the Lord. A successful athlete knows what he must achieve in order to win the prize. It is valuable to celebrate the milestones in the progress of life. It is good to mark the successes in life. They give us continued motivation toward the ultimate goal.
When our children pass achievements we rejoice with them in their successes. We recognize that success breeds greater successes. In the same manner Paul looked forward to a greater reward by looking back at the course of his life. He could see the hand of God in the course of his life. He could see the value of enduring for the sake of the high calling. He was anticipating the eternal weight of God’s glory that would far outshine any of the light hardships of the race he had run.
It will be worth it all when we see Jesus! Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ. One glimpse of his dear face, all sorrow will erase. So, bravely run the race till we see Christ.
I hope you have enjoyed the Series on being a Champion as much as I have. Whatever the course you are on... never give up! Keep trusting! Keep believing and Keep the Faith!!
Again, my sincere thanks to Pastor Beiler for allowing me to use his message on being a Champion!!
