And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9
Seven SECRETS of a Champion Runner!
- Author Pastor Clark Beiler
6. He Uses All His Strength for the Race
A champion runner has two fears. First, that he will run out of strength before he reaches the finish line. This will give his opponents the ability to sprint by him and win the race. The second is that he will have strength left over after the race. This means that he could have used this strength in the race and achieved a better timing.
God wants us to make sure that we are on the right track and then put all of our strength into what we are doing. “Whatever you do, put your whole heart and soul into it, as into work done for God, and not merely for men -knowing that your real reward, a heavenly one, will come from God, since you are actually employed by Christ, and not just by your earthly master” (Colossians 3:23; J.B. Phillips translation). Solomon gave a similar challenge when he wrote, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest” (Ecclesiastes 9:10).
It is the devotion of our entire lives that will bring about the greatest fulfillment and blessing. DL Moody said "The world has yet to see what God can do with a man fully surrendered to Him." I can’t help but wonder what would occur in our time if true followers of Jesus Christ would take to heart the call to Love the Lord our God with our whole heart. There is amazing untapped potential in every one of our lives. We cannot fully comprehend what God desires to do and the blessings He desires to release. “The world is shaken not by the wise, the mighty, the intelligent, or the skilled, but by those who have yielded to God.” (Dr. Paul Chappell)
God’s intent for your life is for you to be a “world shaker” right where you are. What can you do right where you are to make a difference? What extra effort can you exert in your church or the places where you have influence? What would the Holy Spirit prompt in your heart? Every thing we devote to Him brings even greater blessing to His Kingdom.
Let us listen to the voice of His Spirit. Let’s not be lethargic. Rather ask the Lord to renew your devotion to Him this Lord’s Day. Let’s renew our love for our Savior and Lord. Seek to love as He did. You can never tell what He will do.
