Psalm 55:22
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7
As the students were taking their seats in the classroom, the professor poured some water into a glass. He then held the glass of water high in the air, for all to see. He then asked his pupils, "How much do you think this glass of water weighs?"
A few students shouted out answers, "50 grams!" "100 grams!" "125 grams!"
"Well, I really don't know, unless I take time to weigh it," said the professor, but let me ask you another question. "What would happen if I held it up like this for a few more minutes?" Puzzled, the students said, "Nothing...?"
"Okay, what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?" the professor asked. One student replied, "Your arm would begin to ache!" "You are quite right, now what would happen if I held it up for the entire day?"
"Your arm could go numb; you might have severe muscle stress!" ventured one student. Another quickly added, "You would probably have to go to the hospital for nerve damage or paralysis!" The entire class laughed and wanted to know why he was holding the glass up in the first place.
"Very good. But during all this time, did the weight of the glass change? asked the professor. "No," the entire class blurted out. "Well, what should I do now? How do I stop the pain?" asked the professor once again. One student retorted, "Put the glass down!"
"Exactly!" stated the professor, "You are absolutely correct!"
When we continuously ponder the problems in our life, we can be sure they will bring us down! We are told to 'PUT OUR BURDENS DOWN' the moment they come!
When we hold on to life's trials for a few minutes, we get to thinking, "I can handle this!" This is a lie, from the devil! It won't take long and we will begin to ache, our faith will weaken and we will lose all hope!
Holding them even longer will begin to paralyze us, making it more difficult to give them to God at this point! They will stop us in our tracks and we will not be able to do anything with them! We will lose our joy and love will become distorted!
This is Absolutely and Unequivocally what our Lord Jesus wants us to do with our burdens!! We are to take our troubles, our struggles, our afflictions, our anxieties and every single difficulty and cast them, throw them and fling them to the side! (See above 1 Peter 5:7)
God tells us to Definitely and Precisely pile our troubles, hurl our burdens and heave them up, on to His shoulders!! He will carry our load! He will help us out! And our God will take care of those who would betray us! (See Above Psalm 55:22)
Not only do we project our burdens on to God, we do it once and for all !! We don't peek back, look back or go back!! They are forever, and will always be in God's Hands, if we do what we are told to do in these scriptures!!
So, what will you do with your anxieties, now that you know you are to cast them aside, tossing them in to the hands of God?
Thank you Lord, for being our burden bearer!!
