Psalm 147:3 (KJV)
"Broken Hearts Are Open Hearts. There are many sorts of broken hearts, and Christ is good at healing them all."
-- Charles Spurgeon
Maybe, you've lived a childhood where love was inadequate and sparse, there may even have been abused. Or perhaps, you've lost a loved one, or your marriage is failing or has failed. Maybe you are caring for a loved one who is very ill, or your debilitated... whatever the reason, you may feel alone and wonder who will really and truly actually care.
Whatever, the reason may be, it doesn't change the fact that your heart feels heavy and fractured. More often than not we often tend to keep our ruptured lives to ourselves, at least I know I tend to do that.
There were, however, times in my life when my battles seemed so much larger than myself that I even attempted suicide -- BUT THAT IS NOT THE ANSWER, NO MATTER HOW ANY OF US MAY FEEL!!! I learned that life is a "series of constant changes" and with God's help it gets SO MUCH BETTER!!! SO, NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!!
When we call out to God in desperate situations, He makes it a point to get to us, exactly when we need Him. He can speak the word that will heal you, and from my own experience I know that He can and does pull us back from the brink of death!!
Our God is the only "Great Physician" who can completely heal a broken heart, and He will never fail us if we are entirely honest with Him!
A friend I know recently went through a very risky open-heart surgery. Doctors will claim to be very qualified in these kinds of operations, but there is only one capable Physician, Jesus! He has a gleaming and flawless record -- and nothing goes wrong when He performs a work on and in us!! Across-the-board He does all things impeccably, we just have to trust Him!
Oh, how Rachel cried out to God for a child, still who can fathom her extremely difficult labor? Who can comprehend her last breaths as she lay dying, and calling out her son's name, Ben-oni (My Sorrow's Son), her husband Jacob called him Benjamin.
Rachel hopelessly, died in childbirth, but even in her death she was absolutely perfect as a role mother, still I'm sure her heart most have broken into a million or more pieces.
David's heart was broken for his reprehensible and disgraceful sin for which he also lost his son. Yet, God healed his broken heart and restored his soul.
David was even called a "Man after God's own Heart," simply because he was a true worshiper and never hesitated to worship His God... even in public.
You see, worship is the overflow of YOUR revelation of who God truly is! Yes! A broken heart is an open heart and an open heart is "open for attack"!
In your time of brokenness let Jesus be your refuge. Let Him fill you with healing through worship, singing, praying and letting others know, that God will heal their broken hearts also!
While pain may be very personal to each of us, our healing needs to come via a joint affair with our loved ones and even our church family. For we are taught in God's Holy Word to; Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Galations 6:2 (KJV)
Carrying the weight of a broken heart, an illness, or any heavy burden needs the encouragement and support from our brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus to help lighten the load we bear. So, surround yourself with the family of God and see how light your burden becomes and how your healing seems much more possible.
Life's troubles will seldom come one at a time. Instead they are like the waves in a storm -- coming one after another, fast and furious, mounting higher and higher. It is as if the sun has gone down and the air has turned icy and cold and the winds of trouble have begun beating you down.
But, Having lost or exhausted any possibility of perceiving or thinking of any way out of your situation, you will find perfect deliverance in God Himself. When we call out to God in any desperate condition; He will get to you... even if it seems just in the nick of time!
He speaks the word that heals us and He alone brings us back from the brink of death! So, thank God for his marvelous love, for His miracle of mercy to us... His children that he so fiercely loves!! (You do know that He loves you...right??)
