The very nature of God is love. He has been, He is and He always will be love. He can not be anything less or more than love in its most truest form. God's love is unconditional... His Word tells us that He loved us while we were still sinners. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 That is just the nature of God.
Let's use an example in the nature of water. Water whether running freely, evaporating or vaporizing is always wet or moist... we can not pick up water in our hands... as it has no inherent shape of its own. Water on any occasion will soak us to the bone if we are exposed to it. Running water methodically seeks the lowest point. It will forever and a day quench the thirst of man and beast. Water is a must to sustain human life... our bodies are made up of 70% water, however life cannot be sustained under water without a source of oxygen. These facts on water are and always will be true... they are unchanging.
God's love is also unchanging and unfailing... He is unable... to not love us. We must not let the lies of Satan to tell us any thing different. We can enter into God's love and trust it to be exactly what he says it is:
~ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 1 John 4:7
~ He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8
~ Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10
So we now know that God didn't wait for us to become good enough to be his sons and daughters. He did not wait until we understood all His doctrines. Yes, even while we were in sin... God sent his son... while we were sinners in the muck and mire of this world He chose to adopt us for no other reason than His love for us.
I wonder sometimes how God was able to look down on us and see us as we truly are... but still say, "I love you!"
We are not a lovable people at times... and we are so unworthy. Still in His mercy He says to every one of us, "I want you, I chose you, and Child, I love you and I long to be a father to you."
Don't try to figure it out... don't try to understand the deep doctrines of justification or sanctification. Satan will try to talk you out of "simply believing" what God has said. Just know in your heart that He chose you to be a child of God! The lies of Satan are just that.. LIES! We are loved and we can be assured and rest fully in the love of God. He will give you peace in times of trouble... He will carry you when you are weak... and He will never abandon or forsake you! He is Abba Father... He is mine!
There is something else to consider about God's love... it is limitless... it is unconditional... and it will stand the test of time!! Ask God to reveal His love to you... I know He will!
