2 Corinthians 9:6,7
After all the rainy days... it was so nice to go outside one day last week. Don helped me plant some tomato and strawberry plants. Actually, he did most of the hard work... but I enjoyed an afternoon in the sunshine! We both love tomato salads and strawberry treats... so we are looking forward to reaping ALL that we have sown so far.
Every part of life is a "small seed " that needs to be planted or given away. If we are stingy planters we will glean a stingy crop. But, if we plant generously we will generate an abundant crop! Life is really that simple!
What we give freely and unsparingly will come back to us in ample supply! However, when we hold tightly to what we have... we will actually, always have less than what we began with.
We all have the basic need for reassurance and love! So, it stands to reason that if we sow encouragement and cherish those around us... that is exactly what we will harvest from our relationships!
The more we comfort and inspire people, the more we will be comforted and inspired. Let's face it... there is enough pain and grief in this world for each of us. Why not... lend a hand, give a smile or share what we have.
It always feels better, when we give of ourselves and God promises that what we sow, we will reap. And, God's promises are always true!!
If you are feeling discouraged, beat down or depressed, the best way to feel better is to show kindness to someone. I would encourage you to pick two or three people and "plant some love into their lives today!" I know you will reap more than you can even imagine!
There is great joy in giving, when we allow the love of God to flow through us!
