JAMES 4:14
REMEMBER WHEN
If we take a moment to remember our childhood, you may recall the "particularly LONG wait until a year passed and it was time for your birthday!" Back then we weren't just ten years old, we were ten and a half or almost 11... remember??
Or do you remember the long awaited summer vacations
from school, or the most loved holidays of the year
such as Christmas or even??
WHERE DID THE TIME GO
I'm not sure when time starts "rolling down hill" faster then a snowball, but I think we would all agree it most certainly does! The things of earth are quickly passing away and we have to have something we can hold on to... be something that will last for eternity.
Living life knowing that your it is a mere "Vapor" is different than just living. Things here on earth are passing away quickly! You've got to hold on to what will stand--that
which is ETERNAL!
WHAT IS TRULY IMPORTANT
Learn to savor what really matters. "LIFE IS SHORTER
than you realize and ETERNITY IS LONGER than you can even imagine, so learn to live LIFE like it really is!"
YOU WILL EXIST FOREVER--however WHERE YOU EXIST IS
UP TO YOU! You and God are both in the universe to
stay--either as friends on His terms, or enemies on yours.
This will be proven in this lifetime, simply because our
lives are a vapor. Just moments from "right now"
and we may be gone!
FAITHFUL STEWARDS OF OUR TIME
Look for a faith that will stir your heart to make every day count for Christ... as you consider your life as a vapor!
Time is so very precious and we are so very fragile.
Once again; "Life is short and Eternity is long!" Every
minute we live counts!
Oh, if we would just be faithful stewards of the breath
God has given us. 1. "Redeem the Time" EPHESIANS 5:16
2. "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man
be found faithful" 1 CORINTHIANS 4:2
3. "But by the grace of God I am what I am: and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." 1 CORINTHIANS 15:10
BEING FAITHFUL EVEN IN OUR MINUTES
Surely God means for our minutes here on earth to
count for something significant. Paul said,
"Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice
in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain,
neither labored in vain."
PHILIPPIANS 2:16
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast,
unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
for as much as ye know that your labor is not
in vain in the Lord.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:58
SQUANDERING AWAY OUR LIVES
It's time to get off the treadmill of life... we don't have
"TIME TO WASTE!" It's time to win back the time you have left... for your life and my life is just a "vapor that will soon "mist itself a way!"
King Solomon uses the word "vanity" 37 times in Ecclesiastes, beginning with verse 2 where he use it five times,
emphasizing this original Hebrew word meaning
"vapor," futility, senselessness, and frustration.
In other words, Solomon begins his journal by describing
how human lives come and go as the world continues
turning. And he warns us that if we keep our gaze
"under the sun" and don't look up to see God's purpose
for us, life will indeed be... a futile vapor!
