Isaiah 26:3
Have you ever come across an automobile accident or an emergency? Did you get nervous about how or if you could help? If you've lived as long as I have, you probably have encountered such a situation.
I have seen many patients and their families face these medical emergencies with varied emotions of fear, anxiety and panic. The fear of the "unknown" can be overwhelming and devastating to the victim of a life threatening injury and their family. It is in not knowing what to do in a specific situation that only intensifies those fears.
When I was a child I was scared to death of blood and the possibility of having stitches like my older brother had. So it's kind of funny... that I spent most of my adult life in the medical field and especially in emergency trauma situations. The difference between my childhood fears and my adult occupations was the medical education I had learned. Once I knew what to do in these circumstances... my fears turned into trusted actions that would help and not hinder my reactions.
The same is true with our knowledge of God's Word. When we trust the Lord and know who we are in Christ Jesus.... we can abide in him on a daily basis. It is there that we gain confidence and a harmony that sustains us in any of lifes' battles. There is that peace that this world does not know... nor can it give. We may weep or mourn... but ours is with a hope in Jesus. So yes... there is a "perfect peace" that Jesus gives us... while we walk with and trust in him as our savior and lord.
Friend... do you know that peace?? If not you can find that peace in Jesus. Contact me... I would be happy to tell you all about my Jesus!
