1 Thessalonians 5:18
On July 12, 1995 Don and I were to celebrate our twenty fifth wedding anniversary. Be that as it may, it was also the day our home caught fire in the early morning hours.
Subsequently, when the fire fighters left we went into our home to see how much damage had been done. We were astonished to see how most of the things that had been hanging on our walls had melted yet they still stuck to the surface of the wall!
In our kitchen our refrigerator had an innumerable amount of magnetic photos and quotes on it. They had completely melted, leaving no trace as to ever having been on the fridge!
Bizarrely, one magnet remained partially damaged, the blue paint on it had vanished. But, the message remained exclusive still attached to the refrigerator with one particular and crucial directive; IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS!
Easy to say... at times much harder to do, still I've never forgotten the verse or it's meaning in living for Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. There still are many times in my life when things go wrong still this verse always came to my mind.
Losing our home was regretful however, I never forgot the significance and valuable message of giving thanks in all things. Nonetheless, after receiving notice that my younger brother Joe had passed away on September 13, 2018, I have found myself wrestling with God.
All things considered, I instantly felt abandoned, isolated and left in the cold with life's realities! How could this be and how would I be able to endure the days ahead??
