Let a bear robbed of her whelps (cubs) meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly. Proverbs 17:12
CHARACTERISTICS AND PHYSICAL FEATURES OF THE
GRIZZLY BEAR
The female grizzly takes great care in protecting and training her young. She is fiercely loyal to her cubs throughout
their extensive training, and in return she expects
them to pay attention to the instruction she gives!
Her protective dedication is noteworthy that even the
above scripture verse refers to it.
In a western timber range three grizzly yearlings playfully explored the woods near their den. Their aimless
wandering took definite direction when on cub caught
the scent of food. The three began to follow the smell of a dead carcass and were lured farther and farther away
from the protection of their mother!
Wolves had buried their game near the entrance of their
den, and the cub's curiosity drew them close and closer
to danger. One of the cubs sniffed its way to within
thirty feet of the wolf's den and found the body of a
caribou, half hidden by dirt and brush.
Four wolves crouched nearby, ready to spring into action!
They had circled behind the entrance when they
saw the cubs approaching and without warning began
their deadly attack.
Sharp cries soon filled the air, and the mother bear came
roaring to their defense! The wolves then, included
her in their attack and fought savagely, trying to separate
her from her young. The battle intensified until the bears managed to fight their way to a nearby hill for safety.
At this crucial moment, the third and weakest cub ignored
the protective wishes of its mother. it naively sniffed out
the cache and was surrounded in seconds by the
savage pack of wolves.
Now the mother was forced to expose herself and the other cubs to a second violent struggle. Recognizing the desperate plight of her cub, the mother bear broke away from the lead wolf and began to ROAR FURIOUSLY toward the others. And,
She wildly swung her powerful paws in defense.
Then with the same fury and power, she drove all three cubs through a thick patch of brush and into a glacial stream. The smallest cub cringed on the shore, frightened with injuries.
Still the mama bear continued pushing it out into the
water until the wolves no longer followed.
David spoke to Saul, "Let no man's courage fail because
of Goliath. Your servant will go out and fight this
Philistine!" However, Saul answering said, "You are not
able to go against this Philistine to fight him. For you are
only a young man and Goliath has been a warrior from his
youth."
But, David persisted and said, "Your servant was tending his father's sheep. And when a lion or a bear came and took
a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and attacked it and
rescued the lamb from its mouth; and when it rose up
against me, I seized it by its whiskers and struck and killed
it.
Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear;
and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them,
since he has taunted and defied the Armies of the
LIVING GOD!"
David continued and said, "The Lord who rescued me from
the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear,
It is He who will rescue me from the hand of this
Philistine." And Saul finally said to David,
"Go forth, and may the Lord be with you!"
Now, if you remember the Bibles account of
David and Goliath, a giant in the Philistine Army.
You also know that David killed Goliath, with
just a sling-shot and a stone to Goliath's forehead!
David did not do this in his own strength, however
The Lord God of Israel provided the not only the absolutely
correct aim, God also provide His Power to David
because of Davids faith!

PSALM 91:1-7
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall
abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord,
He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler,
and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His
feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth
shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid of the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side,
and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not
come nigh thee.
