GOING ABOUT OUR DAYS
Three generations of a pastor's family went hiking in the Badlands of North Dakota. Grandpa Rod carried baby Lisa while Michelle kept a close eye on four-year-old Ellie and two-year-old Eden.
The two little girls managed to gt ahead of both adults. Grandpa found this unacceptable. He tried to remedy the situation by "leaving the trail" and cutting around the girls on their left side.
LEARN TO LISTEN
That's when he heard their mother tell them very firmly to, "STOP!" A very large rattlesnake, coiled and hissing, lay on the left side of the trail just ahead of where the girls were.
While we know that God takes care of His children, we must be always ready to listen. That still small voice or that strong gut
feeling need to make us ready to "OBEY" at any moment, just as these little girls stopped when told to and just as grandpa left the trail he to get closer to the girls!
WE DON'T HAVE TO KNOW WHY
Grandpa didn't know exactly why he stepped off the trail where he did, he just did! When God directs us in a way we are not thinking of, we need not know "WHY" we just need to OBEY!
Grandpa knew "how to listen" when he went in the direction that he felt he should take and he also knew "God was watching over them." Grandpa didn't take time sit and wonder why he should go off the trail to get a head of his little granddaughters -- he just did it!
NEAR MISSES
Most Believers/Christians lives contain "undetected near misses" and we really don't need to know why or what might have happened, we just need to know, "God watches over us AND He orders His angels to protect and watch over us!"
So, should we live in fear? No! We should continue to trust
in the One who has brought them safe thus far.
"For He shall give His angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways."
PSALMS 91:11
WHEN WISDOM COMES INTO PLAY
There are those few people who will do things to "test God" and I am not talking about these people or what they do!
I am talking about going about our daily plans as we LISTEN and OBEY when God is using someone to speak to us, or when He is speaking to us! He used the girls mom to say, "stop" and he directed grandpa to change his route.
I believe God gave ALL of us common sense and we need to use it! He has also given us "WISDOM" to listen, obey and not question His ways by asking why!
Can you think of a time when God protected you from harm that you learned at a later time? I can and I'm so thankful God is watching over us and giving His angels charge over us and out families!
