To start with I just want you to know, that as a Christian we are never, ever really alone. Jesus is always just a whisper of a prayer away. He can be ALL that we need if we allow Him to be. It just takes some commitment on our part and I admit sometimes... thats easier said than done. Just like this website every interruption that could happen did, but I have decided that I'm just going to make time for it.
So many times we have good intentions to have a regular daily devotion, time to reach out to others and time to pray and then life gets in the way. Were often told to start the day out with these things. Unfortunately, I am not a morning person and that has been part of my problem in the past. But I've found what really matters is finding a place in my schedule that I know I can commit to.
So I might not be up at 6:00am to read my Bible and pray, like my husband does each morning, but I try to do those things as soon as I do get up in the morning and in some cases more towards noon. You see I am up a lot at night with pain and so I sleep in at times. I use to think that made me a bad Christian... but I've learned that was not God's voice I was hearing. I know now that Jesus just wants me to come to Him, to spend time with Him and to share His love.
I would encourage you to do the same... set a time of day when you know you will have a few extra moments. It doesn't have to be big to start... you just have to start. Read your Bible for five minutes... say a prayer. Give Jesus five minutes in your day... and I know He will multiply that time as you grow in Him.
