Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I
pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
PSALM 55:17
FAST FOOD OR
WARM, BUTTERED
BREAD STRAIGHT
OUT OF THE OVEN
FAST FOOD SERVICE
There are times when we all hit that "fast food service" especially when we've had a busy workday or we are just flat out too tired to cook! Whether it be; "hold the pickle, no cheese, extra mayo" we go through our choices very quickly to pay and go!
My grandmother would certainly have something to say about how fast you can get a meal these days. And because I am of Italian descent she would tell me "how they did things in her day!"
GRANDMA'S REAL ITALIAN BREAD
Grandma's special "Italian Bread" recipe takes three days to make, so you can imagine the impact fast food restaurants have made on her generation and generations before that!
Let me tell you, there is a "great big difference" between grandma's meals and the fast-food we order today. Just the aroma of homemade bread baking, that first warm slice with
real butter, oh my, nothing beats that!!
WE ALL WANT FAST SERVICE EVERYWHERE
We want everything done quickly these days; we exchanged snail mail for emails, phone calls for texts, need a date download an App either "Match, OK Cupid or my favorite, Coffee Meets Bagel." We've even shortened our words; Thank you is now Thx, I don't know is IDK, we don't even rumble a good belly laugh nope, it's LOL or ROFLOL.
Sadly all too often we treat our "walk with the Lord like a fast- food order; "Lord get me through this meeting at work, Lord I need to pass this math test, or Lord get this traffic moving." I
call them "short order prayers!"
A REAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Nonetheless, the Lord our God is looking for a real relationship, something solid for both of us!! And if we truly desire to have God in our lives, it takes time, contact, prayer, fellowship, togetherness, and loyalty to name just some of the
relational requirements.
King David had it right, Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
PSALMS 55:17
REASSURANCE FROM GOD
David knew when he called upon the Lord his God, that God would hear him and help him. Simply because, David made his relationship with God "a top priority in his life," he made it a point to pray, morning, noon, and night, pleading aloud with God; and he knew God would hear and answer him!
"Though the tide of battle runs strongly against me, for so many are fighting me, yet will he rescue me. God himself-God from everlasting ages past will answer me!"
TRUSTING GOD WITH EVERYTHING
King David knew he could give his joy, his pain and his burdens to the Lord his God and God would carry them! David knew that God would send his enemies to the pit of destruction, he just had to "call out to God!"
My friends, Call out to God, he will hear you and he will help you. Our lives are secure and whole in the middle of our
troubles and dangers we face!
GOD CARES ABOUT YOU
Have you ever stopped to think, "How did God protect me today in pitfalls I didn't even know about??" Though thousands may be against you, God knows and hears it all!
And from His judge's bench, He puts your enemies in their place! He even tends to your best friends who betray you!
A RELATIONSHIP IS ALL THAT IS REQUIRED
Nevertheless, you and I must have a relationship with God and it can't be a "fly by night - quick service arrangement!"
Place your troubles on God's shoulders, he'll carry your load, he'll help you out. He never lets His people topple into ruin and all He asks for is a "Real Relationship With Him!"
THINK ABOUT IT
Is it that quick burger you want or homemade, warm Italian bread and butter?? There is a difference!
