VICTORY OF FAITH
Joshua in the Old Testament is an illustration and the Hebrew name for Jesus. Joshua was now leading the Israelites through the dry and scorching wilderness when they came upon the walls of Jericho.
These were no ordinary walls, as they were known to have double walls, with one standing over 10 feet tall. Our trials can seem just as overwhelming; still, Joshua was leading the Israelite's into the land of promise and victory. And what is this victory? It is a "Victory of Faith!"
CHALLENGES AHEAD
Joshua faced numerous challenges, but perhaps his most significant was taking Jericho. Do you remember when the Israelite's marched around the walls once every day for six days with the priest carrying the Ark of the Covenant?
On the seventh day, they marched seven times around the walls; and, the priests blew their ram's horns. The Israelites shouted, and the city's walls fell.
WHY GOD
Some people ask, "Why did God make them march around the city of Jericho so many times? Why did God make them march seven days when He could have done it in one day?"
Yes! God could have done it in one day; nonetheless, God was trying to build up their FAITH! Likewise, the devil has placed in each of our lives an extraordinary "Jericho," looming like an impossible barrier between us and what we believe God wants for us.
OUR OWN JERICHO'S
There seems to be a Jericho standing between us and:
TODAY'S JERICHO FOR BELIEVERS
Do you know what today's Jericho is for so many Believers? It may be an unhealthy body, an unhappy marriage, a sinful lifestyle, loneliness in old age, lack of education, past hurts and defeats, or some awful fear.
Something impossible that we cannot overcome keeps us from conquering the land God has given us. When you face your Jericho, you can do one of two things:
Nothing more, nothing less, will achieve VICTORY in our lives except our FAITH IN ALMIGHTY GOD.
VICTORY ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH FAITH
Victory is not achieved by fighting; it is received by faith. You see, God may have a gigantic task, He wants us to perform or that He wants to perform in us.
He gives us the faith to perform it. Your faith links you to nothingness to God's MIGHT, and VICTORY is yours by the FAITH you have in asking.
SURRENDER
Lord Jesus, fill our lives with the FAITH that we need to "RISE" and take down our walls of Jericho. May our walls of unbelief fall as we seek your face and will.
May nothing stand in our pathway of FAITH! May we surrender all of our doubts to You and truly
BELIEVE YOU HAVE OUR LIVES IN YOUR HANDS AND
YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING WE NEED

- Give up, turn around, go back, and die in the wilderness of UNBELIEF!
- Or do as Joshua did: face that fortress of fear and conquer it by FAITH!
Nothing more, nothing less, will achieve VICTORY in our lives except our FAITH IN ALMIGHTY GOD.
