Isaiah 43:25
A little boy and his sister were visiting their grandparents on the farm. The grandfather gave his grandson a sling-shot to play with, out in the woods and with a warning to never use it around people or animals.
The little boy would often practice in the woods, but he could not get the feel of the slingshot and he always seemed to miss his target. One day he headed back to the farm house very discouraged. As he walked by the pond, he saw Grandma's favorite pet duck.
Without thinking and out of impulse, he picked up a rock let the slingshot fly. It hit the duck square in the head and immediately killed the duck. Saddened and in a panic, he hid the duck in the woodpile behind an old barn, only to see that his sister had been watching him the whole time. Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing!
After lunch that day Grandma said, "Sally, let's was the dishes." Sally quickly replied, "Grandma, Billy told me he wanted to help you in the kitchen today, didn't you Billy?" And then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?" So Billy did the dishes with grandma.
Later in the day, grandpa asked if the children would like to go fishing, and grandma said, "I'm sorry, but I need Sally to help me make supper." Sally just smiled and said, "Well that's all right, because Billy told me he wanted to help!" Once again, she whispered to him, "Remember, the duck!" So Sally went fishing with grandpa and Billy stayed to help grandma.
Several days went by and Billy was doing both his chores and Sally's. When he finally couldn't stand it any longer, he went to his grandmother. "Grandma," he said, "I must confess to you, I am sorry, but I killed your favorite duck."
His grandmother knelt and gave him a big hug, she said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing. But, because I love you, I forgave you!" I was wondering however, how long you would let Sally make a slave of you.
We all have a past and we all have sinned. However, if we have asked the Lord Jesus to forgive us our sins, He has done just that. It is Satan who likes to keep
throwing them into our face.
Friend, you must know, that you are no longer under the condemnation of sin. See: Romans 8:1 The blood of Christ Jesus, has canceled out your debt, freeing you from the clutches of sin and death! Jesus has watched you from the
windows of heaven, He has carried your sins and nailed them to the cross, out of His love for you!
Perhaps, He is wondering how long you'll let the enemy make a slave out of you!
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
