Do you know me? My name is FEAR! I am the menace that lurks in your path of life. I am never visible to the eye, but sharply felt in your heart. I am the father of despair, the brother of procrastination, the enemy of progress and the tool of tyranny.
I was born out of ignorance and nursed on misguided thoughts. I have darkened more hopes, stifled more ambitions and shattered more ideals then you can imagine. I have prevented more accomplishments than history could ever record.
Like a changing chameleon, I assume many disguises. I masquerade as caution and I am the obstacle of achievement. I am sometimes known as doubt or worry.
I know no master, but one and his name Satan. I quake and take my orders completely and fully from Him alone. For I am really nothing at all, I have no power but "what Satan orders" and "what your mind gives to me."
Of course, there is only one, that is even greater than Satan, and if you have the courage to acknowledge God, and His Son Jesus Christ you will be taking the first steps towards being delivered and defeating me. If you take these steps and accept God and His Son Jesus Christ, you will be able to move past me and shift your ideals towards compassion and perhaps you will even be headed towards real Love.
For the Spirit that God has given us doe not make us timid or shy; instead the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ fills us with His power, His love and His self-control.
All cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear... dissipates in that wonderful and holy name of Jesus Christ. When fear strikes and taunts, you just need to "stop and call upon the name of the Lord Jesus." Even Satan must run away, for he can not stay where the love of God abounds.
God is Love and when we take up our permanent residence in a life of love in Him, we then live in God and God lives in us. When God is your everything, love has the run of your heart and your life! Love feels at home and Love will mature, making worries, doubts and fears leave. Not one room of your heart or life has to live with fear, if love roams your household. Well-formed love will banish and destroy fear's crippling grip upon you.
Love has been made perfect so that "we may have courage on Judgment Day;" our life in this world is the same as Jesus Christ's. His perfect love in us will drive out all fear. So, if you still live with fear, it is because your love has not matured and "your fears have to do with punishment."
If you have accepted Jesus Christ, "you can have courage on the day of Judgment,"for you are "seated in Jesus Christ, in heavenly places." God's Word says just this, "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and "made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus..." Ephesians 2:5-7
My Friend, give thanks because, if you know Jesus Christ as Savior in your life.. You can "let go of all your fears!" How many more days will you live in fear; when you can have Joy, Peace and Love! Keep praying and seeking God, memorize the scripture verses like, the one above 1 John 4:18, until you know the true love Jesus has for you!
