The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can
man do unto me?
PSALMS 118:7 KJV
WHAT DOES GOD SAY TO BELIEVERS
We are chosen, welcomed, accepted, redeemed, forgiven and loved! We are a part of His household, seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, and we are his handiwork -- just to name a few!
GOD SENT HIS SON FOR OUR SINS
Long ago, even before He made the earth, God chose us to be His very own through what Christ Jesus would do for us; He determined then to make us holy in His eyes, without fault -- we who stand before Him covered with his love!
His unchanging blueprint has always been to adopt us into His own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And he did this because He loved and cherished us and He wanted to give His life for our sins!
GOD POURED OUT HIS LOVE THROUGH HIS ONLY SON
God is so rich in His mercy and love, that even though we were spiritually dead and doomed by our sins, He literally gave us back our lives again, when God raised Christ Jesus up from the
dead -- only by His undeserved favor have we ever been saved.
God also lifted us up from the grave into glory along with Christ Jesus, where we sit with Him in the heavenly realms--all because of what Christ Jesus endured and accomplished for us!
WHY WOULD GOD GIVE HIS SON FOR US
It is God Himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago He planned that we should spend these lives in helping others! We are no longer strangers to God and foreigners to heaven, but we are members of God's family, citizens of God's country and we belong to God's household with every other Christian Believer!
RECOGNIZING GOD'S LOVE FOR US
This is the very foundation to conquer the fear of rejection by others and to gain a healthy understanding, awareness and appreciation for how God has made us as well.
Believing that God created me with all my unchangeable characteristics in the way that brings Him the most glory plays an important role in overcoming the fear of rejection!
WHAT WE THINK BECOMES TRUTH TO US
An interesting aspect of human nature is that what we believe to be true in our hearts we will find the "evidence" to support it. If we reject the way God made us, we will expect others to find us unacceptable as well!
Before long we will be experiencing this "rejection" from others in our day-to-day interactions with them, even when this may not have been their intention at all!
This is one reason why it is so important to guard our hearts and minds and choose to believe only those things that God says are true! God Word states: Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flows the springs of life.
