ON THE ROAD
A minister traveled for days by train, car, and boat to one of the furthest islands in the nation. As he surveyed the bleak but inspiring landscape, he turned to a local villager and said; "You're very remote here, aren't you?" The villager looked at him and replied; "Remote from what?"
TO SPEND OR NOT TO SPEND
Our perspective in life makes all the difference in the world. As a realtor, most of my prospective home buyers wanted a home that was "move-in ready condition." The buyers don't want to spend a lot of time and money fixing it up and are willing to pay more so that they don't have to.
On the other hand, investors just want a home with "good bones at an even better price." These buyers are willing to put all their time, money and hard work into the home so that they could sell it and make a grand profit.
ITS ALL IN OUR POINT OF VIEW
Our perspective in life is very much a reflection of who we are, what we stand for and how we treat one another. The way we conduct our lives speaks louder than what we say about our lives.
Man's natural way of viewing things is never the same as God's. "To see God's view on life we must look to the Word of God and learn His ways by the teaching of the Holy Spirit."
But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is a spiritual judge in all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
1 CORINTHIANS 2:14-16
BELIEVERS AND NON-BELIEVERS
The spiritual man has insights that non-Believers do not have and this tends to baffle the men of the world, who can't understand man from a Christians "point of view"! How could he? For certainly he has never been one to know the Lord's thoughts, or to discuss them with him, or to move the hands of God through prayer.
Spirit can be known only by spirit-- "IF we allow God's Spirit and our spirit to have open communion." We are spiritually alive because we have access to everything God's Spirit is doing and should not be criticized or judged by non-spiritual analysts.
ISAIAH'S QUESTION ANSWERED
"Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord, or being his counselor hath taught him?" ISAIAH 40:13 Isaiah's question was answered this way: "Christ knows, and we have Christ's Spirit."
If our outlook is distorted by sin then we must look to God to give us His view of our life. "We must listen well to the Word of God" and pay careful attention to what His vision for us is.
Learning to see our lives through God's eyes will make our journey here on earth more tolerable. I believe it will even make our burdens lighter and our joy more abundant!
