PSALM 29:1-2
Most of us enjoy being invited to take part in events, such as graduations, weddings, and anniversaries. When we are invited to occasions like these, we feel special.
Here in PSALM 29:1-2, David invites and even commands the reader to participate in one special event along with the angels; to worship the Lord--the only true God.
We tend to think that worship is something Christians perform on Sundays when we attend church with other Believers. But as David summons the angels and us to worship God together, we learn that worship is something we do irrespective of where we are and who we are with at the moment.
The angels worship in the splendor of God's holiness; we worship while still in imperfection. Christians continually worship God because they are especially invited and commanded to do so.
Christian, is worship something you check off every Sunday on your calendar or is it a daily activity that you are performing right now?
TODAY: Take time to worship the Lord our God today and everyday... moment by moment!
