PSALM 26:6-8
According to Google, the occurrence of the word "integrity" in books reached its peak in 1812. It declined steadily in the next century, increased between the 1940s and 2000, and began another steady decline.
Integrity is a character trait of little value to the fallen world. The 46th People's Choice Awards included no category such as "Integrity," if it did, there wouldn't be many nominees.
David contends that he is a man of integrity, and his proof is his daily work (see; PSALM 26:1-5). But David presents further evidence of innocence: he delights himself in the presence of the Lord, desiring to praise Him, love Him, and proclaim His deeds.
For the Believer, these actions take place personally on a daily basis, but in a unique way corporately in fellowship with other believers.
A lack of a desire for a close relationship with the Lord may indicate a lack of integrity.
QUESTION TO PONDER: Do you and I long for God and the things of God??
