Psalm 30:4
A Thanksgiving Dinner To Go!
Just a few days before Thanksgiving Day in 1976 we received a phone call from our son, John Michael Zion, who was at Fort McClellen, Ala., taking further training to become a military police officer.
He told us that this would be his first Thanksgiving without having a great dinner at home. My wife Georgia said, “let’s take the dinner to Alabama.” We had just purchased a new Ford F-150 for $3,600. Can you believe that price?
My wife, Georgia fixed a complete turkey dinner with all the trimmings, put it in a cooler, and we drove to Anniston. We found a nice motel with a beautiful kitchen and had the best dinner ever. Her pumpkin pies were super.
We had all we could handle and took the remaining food back to the base where John’s buddies cleaned up everything. We were really thankful for that Thanksgiving Day.
