It was early on the morning of December 26, 2004, when an earthquake occurred far out to sea, off the West coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, causing a tsunami to form. Many people, young and old alike were enjoying their Christmas vacations on the warm and sunny beaches around the Indian Ocean. They had no idea that a massive wall of water was silently hurling towards them at around 500mph. As it reached the shallow waters, it began to rise up to form a mighty wave of thirty feet high and in some places it towered at 60 feet. They didn't know it yet, but those in its path had little chance of survival with just their own abilities....
In a desperate fight for survival many people fled through the floodwaters in search for higher ground, looking for a way to save their lives. However, in the midst of their fears, uncertainty and anguish, many lives were lost that day.
As we pass through the deep waters of our own crisies, we may be wondering, "Who can save me, who can rescue me from this?" Don't lose hope even if you feel you are in the deepest of waters! Our God has promised that He will be with those whose trust is in Him! He alone can save us and keep us from drowning in our own despair and hopelessness!
We need not fear the deep waters of worry and doubt if we turn to God. He is already reaching out His hand, ready to grasp ours! We just need to take a deep breath of faith and take hold of his almighty hand! The path may seem difficult and many times it might seem hopeless, but we can be sure of this one thing, nothing is to hard and nothing is impossible with God! For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37 He is able to deliver you, He is able to rescue you!
Take your eyes off of the storm you are in and align them with the cross. It is there that Jesus bore all our pain and suffering. It is there that Jesus made our crooked paths straight. We just need to learn that our eyes and our thoughts must stay focused Him!
God's Word always brings hope and encouragement when our situations seem to difficult for us to bear. And Jesus looking upon them saith, "With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible." Mark 10:27 When your problems mount and your worries try to overtake you, spend some time with God in prayer. Thank Him for the things only He can do in your life!
When doubt or worry begin to fill your mind, bring it back to Jesus in prayer! Then take a moment to help or encourage someone else. You can not sit and stew in your own misery, when you are reaching out to help another.
