And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. Luke 2:4,5
Jesus Our Savior's birth was at hand... the King of Kings would be born and placed in a manger... which was a box... a trough in a stable or a barn from which horses or cattle ate. Nothing fancy for this baby who would bring the greatest GIFT to all people. A gift of LIFE and LOVE that would meet the needs of everyone who would accept Him into their hearts.
