AMERICA HAS TURNED IT'S BACK ON GOD
The year 2020 as been one of the most challenging years that I have ever known in my "baby boomer" years! It has been difficult and very unpredictable, with a complex mix of economic lows and the deadly Covid-19!
But what else could anyone expect since America has turned its
back on God. We have had "Radical Feminist Movement" that has driven the number of abortions to almost sixty million murdered babies. I know many of you do not want to hear
these things, but better now than later!
THE RESULTS OF HARDENED HEARTS
We've seen far too many Democrats and Republicans that act like Democrats embracing extreme positions on abortion: murder up until the moment of birth and even, horrifically, after that.
"Surrounded by dozens of female lawmakers, women's rights organizers and reproductive health activists, Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed into law sweeping abortion rights legislation that establishes the procedure as a "fundamental right" for women in Illinois. (Chicago Tribune’s: Jamie Munks and Angie Leventis Lourgos contributed.)
Violent protests against police brutality have started raging riots and protests. Not to mention the senseless looting, the burning down of buildings, the tearing down of monuments and property damage that they have left in their wake.

GOD IS GIVING US A WARNING
The warning in Hebrews is a serious one. Anytime we ignore what God has said, it may be evidence of a "Hardened Heart!" Although we usually think this condition applies only to those who reject Christ, the reality is that believers can "be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin!"
When the Lord begins to convict us, we could rationalize our disobedience, thinking it's not that bid a deal. Or we might be tempted to preoccupy ourselves with other things to avoid facing the issues at all.
GOD IS SERIOUS
Perhaps we're unwilling to deal with that sin because we're afraid of the changes God is challenging us to make. Therefore, we distract ourselves with other thoughts and activities, pushing God further and further from our mind in hopes of silencing His conviction.
We may think ignoring the Spirit of God in this way is not a serious issue, but it is rebellion against God, which is the very core of sin. And rebellion often begins witha refusal to relinquish control and trust the Lord.
When we start catering to our own preferences, it's not long before we redefine what God has said in an attempt to make ourselves feel better and quash the nagging sense of guilt.
DANGEROUS BEHAVIOR
The danger in such behavior is that we lose sight of our "First Love" our actions testify that we love our sin more than Christ Jesus. "Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou has left thy first love." REVELATION 2:4
Sadly the result is a heart that is desensitized to the sin and by ignoring the Spirit's warnings, we can become acclimated to our unrighteousness and adopt a sinful lifestyle that creates our "Hardened Hearts!" This is why we must carefully guard and examine our hearts.
TIME TO TURN OUR HEARTS BACK TO GOD
God's Word tells us what we have to do, if we don't want to see His wrath over our sin. It begins with a heart that cries out for forgiveness to God.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
